According to the sports book Bovada, LeBron James is the odds-on favorite (11/4) to win the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award in 2015-16.
Rounding out the top four candidates are Anthony Davis (4/1), Kevin Durant (11/2), and the reigning MVP Stephen Curry (6/1).
James Harden, the players’ choice for the 2015 award, has 7/1 odds to take it this season.

James, 30, finished third in MVP voting last season — his first with Cleveland since 2010 — despite missing 13 games (the Cavs went 2-11). He averaged near career lows in points (25.3) and rebounds (6.0) per game.
The Cavs superstar has four MVPs to his name and needs two more to tie Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time lead. Michael Jordan is second in league history with five MVPs. […] As Ethan Skolnick, then of the Bleacher Report and now of the Miami Herald, noted last season, only nine players in league history have won an MVP after the age of 30. Some notable players to fail to do it include Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant and Oscar Robertson.
The Cavs won 53 games last season after starting 19-20. James was injured and missed two weeks during that stretch, but also expressed poor body language toward then-rookie coach David Blatt and some new teammates, which seemed to cost James points with voters early.
