John Wall found himself in the headlines last week after he said that he and Brad Beal “have a tendency to dislike each other on the court,” which generated plenty of conversation about the relationship between the Wizards’ guards.
Immediately after that story came out, another report surfaced that said that Wall is “rankled” by the amount of money James Harden is making.
A frustrated Wall used Uninterrupted to respond to the stories and said that he’s happy for both Beal and Harden:
“I love the game of basketball so me talking about Bradley Beal getting more money, I’m not mad, I’m happy. He’s my teammate,” said Wall. “He came out at the right time when the contract money went up, I can’t control that. If I do what John Wall is supposed to do and the Washington Wizards win, I will make my money down the road.
“James Harden’s contract extension, I don’t care. I’m happy for him, that’s my guy. I’m not mad at him…Please stop saying I’m watching money, I’m not.”
The talented point guard also commented on his recovery from knee surgeries and what he’s been up to while out in L.A. during the summer.
