The Miami Heat were the hottest team in the Eastern Conference throughout the playoffs last season, making their way to the NBA Finals. Falling short, the Los Angeles Lakers took care of Miami and went home with the hardware.
To Jimmy Butler, that means there’s unfinished business. In fact, he recently talked about how things will be different this time around.
““I want to let Miami know that we, this organization, want to bring another championship here,” Butler said in an interview with Ocean Drive. “When we get there, which we will, we’re gonna get it done this time.”
Butler is confident that the Heat will make their way back to the NBA Finals, but also finish with a series win and a championship trophy this time around. After acquiring Victor Oladipo at the trade deadline, Miami certainly has the depth to make some noise down the stretch.
Currently 26-25, the Heat have had quite a bit of success recently, climbing their way up the standings in the East. With teams like the Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers having extremely talented rosters, the path back won’t be easy. Yet, with their roster featuring the trio of Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo and Victor Oladipo, don’t count the Miami Heat out.
