Jahlil Okafor to Remain Patient During Knee Rehab

Sixers center Jahlil Okafor says he’s not frustrated with sitting out, as he continues to recover from a torn meniscus in his right knee.

The big fella says he could suit up, but that he’ll remain patient.

Okafor, 20, led Philly with a 17.5 scoring average during his rookie season.

Per Philly.com:

Surely Okafor has to be disappointed at the snails’ pace of his rehabilitation process. He (missed) Tuesday night’s preseason opener against Boston at the University of Massachusetts’ Mullins Center. Okafor, despite saying he’s healthy, has also sat out several of the training camp scrimmages.

“It’s not frustrating,” he said Tuesday morning following his team’s shootaround at Mullins. “I understand where they are coming from. I know I can go out there and play.

“But our medical staff and the people that are experts know that my goal is to play 82 games [in the regular season] and they are trying to help me accomplish that.”
