The Sacramento Kings have agreed to a one-year deal with former Blazers center Hassan Whiteside, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal is for the league minimum, according to NBC Sports’ James Ham.
Whiteside, 31, began his NBA career with the Kings, who drafted him 33rd overall in the 2010 Draft. After appearing in just 19 games during his first two seasons, Whiteside was waived before the 2012-13 season.
Last season with the Blazers, Whiteside averaged 15.5 points, 13.5 boards and a League-leading 2.9 blocks in 30.0 minutes. During Portland’s first-round matchup against the Lakers, his numbers plummeted to 6.8 points, 7.0 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 21.2 minutes.
