Dorian Finney-Smith on Luka Doncic’s Vision: ‘He Sees You Without Even Seeing You’
It goes without saying: Luka Doncic is not your average 22 year old basketball player.
Since entering the league in 2018 as the reigning EuroLeague MVP, Doncic has been a superstar on the world stage, allowing the Dallas Mavericks to remain relevant after the retirement of franchise legend Dirk Nowitzki.
This season, Dallas is 20-18, good for the eighth-best record in the NBA. Not only is Cool Hand Luke great at scoring the ball, averaging 28.1 points per game, but he’s also an elite passer that’s dishing out 9.3 assists per contest.
Routinely hearing his name mentioned among the best facilitators in the game, perhaps nobody is as familiar with his work as his teammates.
On Tuesday, Mavericks forward Dorian Finney-Smith attempted to describe Doncic’s prodigious passing ability, telling reporters that “he sees you without even seeing you.”
Doing it a variety of ways on offense, there’s no question Doncic is one of the top offensive players in the NBA.
Responsible for 52.2 points per game through his combined scoring average and assist points created, there are few players who contribute more to their team’s offense as primary playmakers.
