Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker has been known as one of the league’s most explosive scorers since his rookie season but over the past four games, the six-year veteran has been getting more buckets than usual.
His scoring frenzy has seen him 148 points in the last week; as hung up 45 points when matched up against fellow All-Star Zach LaVine and the Chicago Bulls on Mar. 3; 32 points against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Apr. 2; 36 points against the Houston Rockets on Apr. 5; and 35 points in a fight against superstar guard Donovan Mitchell and the Utah Jazz.
Averaging 26.3 points per game in this stretch, it was Booker’s second-best four-game stretch this season in terms of scoring average (he averaged 33.0 points per game from Feb. 22 to Feb. 28) but the first stretch this season that he’s scored at least 30 points in four consecutive contests.
For the season, Booker is averaging 26.1 points per game (currently 10th in the the NBA) while is shooting .495 percent from the field. Meanwhile, the Suns are 36-14, just 1.5 games back of the Western Conference’s top mark just a season removed from going 34-39 and missing the playoffs altogether.
They’ve won nine of their last 10 contests.
