Key Offseason Decisions
- Will Jerami Grant opt out? Grant has gone back and forth since the season went on hiatus. Initially, it looked like Grant would take the security of opting in for $9.3M for 2021. After a terrific run during the restart, it now looks like Grant will opt out and test the market.
- Is Torrey Craig still part of the plans? The qualifying offer to keep Craig is a fairly small $2.5M. That’s probably still a palatable number for Denver if Craig simply signs it.
Projected Team Salary
$189,219,386
The swing point for the Nuggets is Jerami Grant. Even if Grant opts out, Denver will be over the cap. They’ll keep his free agent rights, as Grant is too important to let him walk away cleanly. Because of that, the Nuggets project to keep free agent rights for everyone else. Denver will also keep all of their non-guaranteed players, as each has value for the team. (@KeithSmithNBA)
