Constantly finding ways to use his fortune to help others, DeMar DeRozan‘s latest community assist saw him fund a new weight room for his alma mater, Southern California.
DeRozan made a record donation to USC, the largest ever by an alum who made it to the NBA. The weight room is more spacious, more functional and has a whole heap of new equipment.
After one season playing for the Trojans, DeRozan entered the 2009 NBA Draft and was selected ninth overall. Forty-four players have made it to the League after playing for USC, including Nick Young and Nikola Vucevic.
DeRozan was born and raised in Compton, CA, which adds another layer to his donation to USC, as he still visits his hometown regularly.
