Too prideful and competitive to ever jump ship to a super team, Damian Lillard explained why he can’t see himself leaving Portland.
The star PG says the Trail Blazers will eventually contend for NBA titles.
Lillard downplayed the skepticism and backlash his comments caused.
Per The Oregonian:
He likes the squad currently being constructed in Portland.
So a day after Lillard said in an interview on SiriusXM that he “wouldn’t do it, that’s just not who I am,” he expanded upon that thinking:
“I like playing with who I play with,” Lillard said after Wednesday’s practice. “I’m confident enough in them and I believe in them to the point where I think we can get to the point where we’re a championship team.”
