On Sunday, Tim Duncan helped the Spurs complete a first-round sweep of the Grizzlies. It’s the kind of domination in the postseason that’s become second-nature when you think of Duncan, who is tied with Robert Horry for the second-most playoff wins in NBA history.
Duncan turns 40 years old today. Marinate on that for a moment. 40!
The No. 1 overall pick in 1997 out of Wake Forest, Duncan’s put together a career that includes five NBA titles, 15 All-Star appearances and a pair of MVP Awards, among countless other accomplishments.
Despite all that, you rarely see Timmy immortalized with the kind of mixtape highlight reel most star players have tons of on YouTube. Is it because he’s “boring” or doesn’t show emotion? Whatever the reason, we decided to prove that a Tim Duncan mixtape could be absolutely dope. So we had our guy Meir21 create the video tribute you see above—enjoy!
The NBA made its own version of a tribute to Tim Duncan’s legendary career, which you can watch here.
