Last month, the AND1 Live Tour (formerly the AND1 Mixtape Tour) went on a three-week tour of East Africa sponsored by Sprite, hitting Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Burundi and Uganda to spread love and put on a basketball show at each stop. When not busy throwing down ridiculous dunks and wowing the crowd, the AND1 players helped construct new basketball courts, teach local kids new moves and give back to the community. Above you can see a smattering of photos from the experience. And below, check out an update on the latest from the Tour, which made its latest stop back home in the U.S. over the weekend:
The AND1 Live Tour made a stop in Dothan, Alabama for a game on May 12th. This was the debut game for our newest big man “Big Dave” who showed up big with a dominating performance with 16 dunks and 15 boards. Werm had a game-high 56 points. One of the players on the opposing team was invited to Denver Nuggets camp at the beginning of the season. However, the AND1 Team was not fazed, winning 127-94. The AND1 Live Streetball Team remains undefeated to start off the summer tour, winning their last nine games played. The game in Dothan was a testament to the endurance of the team, due to the extremely quick turn around after the three weeks spent tour East Africa.
