In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, many NBA players took the court to debut this year’s Black History Month collections. Nike’s “BHM” collection was well represented with LeBron James wearing his signature Nike LeBron 13, Kyrie Irving in his Nike Kyrie 2, and several players wearing “BHM” editions of the HyperLive, Zoom Hyperquickness 2015, Zoom HyperRev 2016 and the Zoom LeBron Soldier IX.
This season’s adidas “BHM” collection paid tribute to Jesses Owens and featured white/metallic gold color stories with “773”—the number Owens wore on his bib in the 1936 Olympics—emblazoned on the tongues. Damian Lillard took the floor in his “BHM” D Lillard 2, James Harden balled in the adidas Crazylight Boost 2.5 “BHM,” and Harrison Barnes wore the Light Em 2.
