Keen observers of Team USA’s gold medal-clinching performance Sunday against Spain may have noticed a new sneaker on the feet of the reigning regular season and Finals MVP, LeBron James. All the anticipation—and rumors—came to a head earlier today, as James unveiled his 10th (!) signature shoe, the LeBron X. In his now-decade long partnership with Nike Basketball, Bron Bron has never had a year like this one, so it’s only right to celebrate with a sneaker that Nike says “is constructed for dynamic containment, impact protection, and responsiveness to assist one of the game’s most explosive players.”
The LeBron X is the first signature basketball shoe featuring Nike+ Basketball technology (in select colorways), and it also combines four of Nike’s most advanced innovations—the first full-length visible Nike Zoom unit, dynamic Flywire technology, Hyperfuse construction and Nike+ Basketball. Full details on the LeBron X are still scant, but stay tuned for more in the coming months, as the Heat gear up to defend the NBA title.
