Holcombe Rucker Park was treated to a blanketing of rain on Thursday, before the legendary playground turned up for another legendary night. Within a nearby barber shop, Reebok Classic Breakout Camp players were handed pairs of the Question Mid ‘#1 Draft Pick’ to match the freshness of their cuts. They laced up their sneakers in honor of the recently retired Allen Iverson, and as the Doppler thankfully predicted, the rain cleared.
The final game of the EBC summer season did not disappoint—on the court or off. Fabolous was the celebrity coach, and Swizz Beats came out to support the Breakout All-Stars. Mr. 66, Kemba Walker and DLee sat courtside. Hillsong NY took the title with a put-back layup on the final play, but the pain of the loss was soon salved at Swizz’s studio, where the All-Stars previewed some of the producer’s new tracks.
From Reebok:
Swizz Beatz and Fabolous came out to support the Breakout Camp kids last night during the final games of the Rucker Park season.
Both showed wearing the Question Mid #1 Draft Pick (launching today) and the Breakout Camp Kids played in the style as well in honor of Allen Iverson who just announced his retirement this week.
The crowd went wild as Fab and Swizz took the court and greeted players and fans. After the crowd quieted down, Swizz and Fab stayed on the sidelines and the Breakout Camp kids commenced a stellar, high adrenaline game, showing off the skills they have been honing all season.
Following the Breakout Camp game, for the final All-Star game of the season, Kevin Durant made a special appearance to play in the All Star game. Following their time at Rucker Park, the Breakout Camp kids were treated to a further surprise: previewing some new tracks at Swizz’s studio.
Very limited pairs of the Question Mid #1 Draft Pick will drop on Friday, August 23 for $125 ($95 in GS) at key retailers including Foot Locker, Finish Line, Jimmy Jazz, Villa, DTLR, Champs, and Reebok.com.
