The owner of the Cavs—himself a son of Detroit—enlisted the services of fellow Motor City native El Cappy and Cleveland’s own JBF Customs, to help him get a one-of-one pair. Each designer got one of the sneakers to work with. El Cappy went with a map of downtown Detroit, while JBF incorporated Cavs jerseys and an official NBA basketball.
