adidas Announces Schedule for its Uprising Basketball Programs for Elite HS Players

With spring just weeks away, the spring/summer grassroots circuit (aka AAU season) is on the horizon. And when it gets here, adidas will be hosting an array of events for elite HS players. Today, the three stripes company revealed the schedule for its Uprising youth programs, designed for elite HS prospects. Among the returning events is the Gaunlet series, which this year will culminate in South Carolina. The top prospects from the around the world will once again meet the top American prospects in Los Angeles, as part of the adidas Global Nations.

adidas today announced its schedule for the 2016 adidas Uprising basketball circuit. adidas Uprising provides an exclusive platform for the next generation of basketball superstars and creators to foster their game and skills through a series of tournaments and development camps.

 

The adidas Gauntlet series gives top 15U, 16U and 17U teams from across the country a chance at the title of adidas Uprising Gauntlet champion. Teams compete in two preview events in Dallas, April 15-17 and Atlanta, April 22-24 to earn a spot in the Gauntlet Finale in South Carolina, July 7-9. The Gauntlet finale will host the top teams from the Gauntlet series, as well as the championship teams from regional qualifiers in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Chicago May 27-30. Teams will be seeded for bracket play based on their Gauntlet win-loss record culminating with a championship game July 9.

 

The summer basketball tournament season culminates with 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U teams from around the country vying for the Summer Championships trophy July 20-24 in Las Vegas.  Summer Championships is an open invite event showcasing five days of top prep basketball with a 17U championship game airing July 24 on ESPNU.

 

adidas Nations will continue to bring together the top U19 basketball players from the U.S., Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and Latin America to train and compete July 28 – August 1 in Los Angeles. Additionally, adidas will host four exclusive training camps for U.S. rising seniors to hone their skills and learn from elite trainers, former NBA and NCAA coaches and NBA athletes. adidas Uprising training camps will take place throughout the year in Chicago, Santa Barbara, Australia and Portland.

 

Former adidas Grassroots participants include NBA athletes Kyle Lowry, Derrick Rose, Damian Lillard, Andrew Wiggins, Justise Winslow, Eric Gordon, Dante Exum, and Serge Ibaka.
