All things considered, this wasn’t exactly the most exciting week in college basketball. The five top teams—Kentucky, Virginia, Gonzaga, Duke and Wisconsin—all took care of their business, even if they were all tested by lesser opponents at one time or another. This made for a rather unexciting week in the AP and Coaches’ polls, as both of them have the exact same top fives after the last week of action.
Per usual, Kentucky has a stranglehold on the college basketball world. The undefeated Wildcats received all 65 first-place votes in the AP Poll, while it received 31 of a possible 32 in the Coaches’ Poll. The only squad which was able to take a vote from Kentucky was Gonzaga.
