Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr reports that he’ll “be out for the summer,” this after undergoing surgery on his back Tuesday in Los Angeles.
Kerr, 49, has been dealing with back issues for some months.
In his first year on the bench, Kerr helped guide the Dubs to a League-best 67 wins and the 2015 NBA title.
Per CSN Bay Area:
Kerr has been dealing with the issue for a few months.
Two weeks ago, Kerr was in Tahoe for the American Century Celebrity Golf Classic, but was unable to participate.
“I was supposed to play in the tournament but my back is acting up so I’m just enjoying the lake and the scenery,” Kerr said. “Can’t play this year unfortunately.”
