Roshown McLeod resigned as head coached of national powerhouse St. Benedict’s Prep after his lone season with the program. Following a 20-1 season under Dan Hurley a year ago, who eventually left to take over as head coach of Wagner College, McLeod took over the reigns at the Newark, NJ school this past season and posted a 13-12 record. The former Duke Standout and 20th pick of the 1998 NBA Draft, said in a statement that he resigned “in order to pursue other coaching opportunities.”
And not so far away, long time St. Patrick head coach Kevin Boyle announced today that he will be leaving the Elizabeth, NJ school to become the head coach at Montverde Academy in Orlando, Florida. In 23 seasons, the 2007 USA Today National Coach of the Year won five Tournament of Champions, won over 400 games, and coached the likes of Al Harrington, Samuel Dalembert, Corey Fisher, Kyrie Irving, Dexter Strickland, and Michael Gilchrist.
