Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs have agreed on the framework of a five-year contract worth more than $90 million.
With Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili set to return at discounted salaries, the Spurs can now set their sights on luring free agent LaMarcus Aldridge from Portland.

After the San Antonio Spurs presented an offer of a maximum contract extension to his representatives, star forward Kawhi Leonard has agreed to the framework of a five-year deal that could be worth in excess of $90 million, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
“I have every intention of signing with the San Antonio Spurs,” Leonard said in a statement. “There are details in the contract which need to be worked out with the organization. I am confident that this will be accomplished.”
Spurs officials reached out to Leonard’s agents, Brian Elfus and Mitch Frankel of Impact Sports, shortly after midnight ET on Wednesday and the sides reached an agreement in principle on a contract that still has deal points to be worked out in the next several days, sources said.
Now, the Spurs turn toward recruiting Portland Trail Blazers free agent LaMarcus Aldridge, which will commence at a breakfast meeting on Wednesday morning in Los Angeles. Leonard will join teammates Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, and president/coach Gregg Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford at a presentation to the Blazers All-Star forward, sources said.
