Aquille Carr, a 5-6 point guard in the Class of 2013 who is committed to Seton Hall, has been arrested on charges of assaulting his former girlfriend. The Patterson (MD) High School star is reportedly accused of throwing his former girlfriend to the ground outside a Baltimore trade school and kicking and punching her. More details, via the Baltimore Sun: “Aquille Carr, a star basketball guard at Patterson High School whose electrifying play earned him the nickname ‘Crimestopper,’ was released from jail late Saturday after being arrested on a domestic assault charge. The rising senior announced in January that he had committed to play basketball at Seton Hall in the 2013 season. He transferred to St. Patrick High in Elizabeth, N.J., in the spring but said he expected to return to a city school in the fall. He earned the nickname ‘Crimestopper’ because, it is said, crime stops in East Baltimore when he’s on the court. Members of Carr’s family declined to comment when reached by phone. He was taken to Central Booking, where he was held for much of Saturday on charges of second-degree assault and reckless endangerment until posting $50,000 bond.”
