Aubrey McClendon, a part-owner of the OKC Thunder, died Wednesday morning in a fiery one-vehicle accident.

Per The Oklahoman:
Thunder coach Billy Donovan gathered his players soon after their morning shootaround in Los Angeles on Wednesday and delivered the news that had already rocked Oklahoma City. […] “Just a tough and terrible day,” Donovan said. “He always treated me very well, a very generous guy.”
This is the second tragedy to strike the organization in the past few weeks. In early February, Ingrid Williams, the wife of assistant coach Monty Williams, was killed in a car crash just south of downtown Oklahoma City.
“We’re very fortunate to have local ownership,” general manager Sam Presti said. “Him being at the games with Clay (Bennett) and some of our other owners on a regular basis are part of what makes the Thunder the Thunder. We have a unique amount of support in our community and that starts at the top.” […] Former Thunder player Jeff Green had a somber tone in the Clippers locker room pregame when asked about McClendon. He recalled McClendon helping him out during his early years in OKC. Green played his rookie season in Seattle, then arrived in Oklahoma City as a 22-year-old who knew nothing about his new home.
