If this doesn’t strengthen the Knicks’ current offer, nothing will. From the NY Daily News: “Mikhail Prokhorov just released statement that he hasn’t met with Carmelo and has no plans to meet with him.”
UPDATE: They may not have had plans to, but they did, in fact, meet with Melo. The NY Daily News has the scoop: “After a month posturing, Mikhail Prokhorov finally got his sitdown with Carmelo Anthony. Nets brass is meeting with Anthony Saturday night, the Daily News learned, just hours after Prokhorov sent out a press release stating he had no intentions of meeting with the All-Star. Minority owner Jay-Z was also involved in the meeting, as the Nets are trying to sell Anthony on signing a three-year, $65 million extension to play in New Jersey.”
