Nazr Mohammed Re-Signs With the Chicago Bulls

Veteran center Nazr Mohammed has reached a one-year agreement to remain with the Chicago Bulls. The deal is for the veteran’s minimum. Per the Chicago Tribune: “This will be the Chicago native’s 16th season. ‘I feel great,’ Mohammed said by phone. ‘I’m looking forward to us staying healthy and competing for a title.’ Mohammed said the opportunity to stay in his hometown, finally play with Derrick Rose and work for a winning team made it ‘an easy decision.’ Mohammed also lauded the Bulls getting a verbal commitment from Mike Dunleavy Jr., whose shooting prowess Mohammed said would help Rose and Carlos Boozer. ‘But we’re kind of becoming ‘Duke Midwest,’ Mohammed joked. ‘We need to sign some Kentucky guys to balance it out.’ With the expected waiving of Richard Hamilton by July 10 and the additions of Mohammed, Dunleavy and draft picks Tony Snell and Erik Murphy, the Bulls will have 12 under contract.”
