Members of the Minnesota Lynx are asking fans to help “black out” the Target Center on Friday to protest of the WNBA’s decision to fine teams and players for wearing black anti-violence t-shirts.
The defending champs will host the Seattle Storm at 8 p.m. EST in their final game before the Olympic break.
Hey #LynxNation. Let's black out the arena tonight! We're standing together to bring peace & change. It starts w/ us #BeTheChangeYouWantSee

The Lynx were the first team to take a stand, wearing black warmup shirts with the names of Philando Castile and Alton Sterling, along with the Dallas Police Department shield.

They only wore the shirts just once, but will wear them again—a day after the New York Liberty and Indiana Fever staged a media blackout at Madison Square Garden.
The WNBA fined three teams (Phoenix Mercury, Liberty and Fever) $5,000 each, and players were fined $500.
So far, players have received an outpouring of support—including that of Carmelo Anthony, who said he can’t understand why the WNBA levied the fines.
the amount of support that my teammates and I have gotten over the past few days/weeks is incredible! we appreciate the support it
