Just a week after head coach Jason Kidd declared the Bucks are “happy” with Michael Carter-Williams, a new report has surfaced that MCW will travel down I-94 to Chicago and suit up for the Bulls.
Late last night, ESPN reported that the Bucks and Bulls are finalizing a deal that will send Carter-Williams to the Bulls in exchange for Tony Snell:
BREAKING: League sources tell @ZachLowe_NBA and me that Bucks and Bulls are in deep talks on a Michael Carter-Williams-for-Tony Snell trade.
— Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) October 16, 2016
Sources said the Bucks, who have been openly looking for more shooting and defense on the perimeter in the wake of a long-term injury suffered by starter Khris Middleton just days before training camp, have targeted Snell to give them some much-needed help on the wing.
When the deal becomes official, it would be the second trade Milwaukee has swung since losing Middleton, following the Bucks’ acquisition of Michael Beasley from the Houston Rockets in September.
The Bucks and Bulls met Saturday night in Chicago in a preseason game, but neither Williams nor Snell played.
With MCW gone, the Giannis Antetokounmpo point guard project is in full effect.
