Free agent veteran forward Matt Bonner is returning to the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs for another season. The Red Rocket, 34, has been with the Spurs since 2006. Per the Express-News:
Bonner confirmed the deal, for one season at the 10-year veteran minimum of $1.448 million, via a text message that read: “I’m coming back.”
General manager R.C. Buford confirmed the agreement.
Of the 14 players who were on the championship roster, only Aron Baynes, a restricted free agent, remains unsigned. The Spurs have the right to match any offer sheet Baynes may get.
Matt Bonner, on deal: ."I'm super thrilled it worked out & excited to come back to #Spurs & city of SA and try to win another championship'
