Lockout Could End Jason Kidd’s Career

Not only would a lockout get Jason Kidd seriously thinking about retirement, but many other players as well. From ESPN: “The NBA’s collective bargaining agreement expires June 30, and the possibility exists that the owners of pro basketball teams could lock out their players, much like the NFL owners have done in their league. If an NBA lockout forces the cancellation of the 2011-12 season, the Mavericks’ Jason Kidd, considered one of the greatest point guards in league history, would consider retirement. ‘I’m just concentrating on this season,’ Kidd said after his Mavericks lost the San Antonio Spurs on Friday night, 97-91. ‘I take it one game at a time. When that time comes I will address that situation, but if there was a lockout and if there was no season, I probably would walk away because at 39, 40 years old, that is just too much for me to train and get back in shape.'”
