The Los Angeles Lakers, who recently added Eddie Jordan and Steve Clifford to Mike Brown’s coaching staff, have hired assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff. Brown and Bickerstaff have a close relationship, as Bickerstaff, 68, gave Brown his first NBA job as a Denver Nuggets intern when Bickerstaff was the general manager of the team. Via the Orange County Register: “Bickerstaff was most recently an assistant coach with the Portland Trail Blazers the past two seasons but has been a head coach in Seattle, Denver, Washington and Charlotte. Bickerstaff’s resume begins with a job as a Washington assistant coach in 1973, when he was the league’s youngest assistant.”
