Knicks Attempting to Trade Steve Novak, Marcus Camby to Raptors For Andrea Bargnani (UPDATE)
Nobody saw this one coming (at least from the Knicks’ end), but here you go: The Raptors are dealing Andrea Bargnani to the Knicks in exchange for Steve Novak, Marcus Camby and a few Draft picks. Per Yahoo!: “The Toronto Raptors are finalizing an agreement on a trade to send former No. 1 overall pick Andrea Bargnani to the New York Knicks, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Knicks will send their 2016 first-round pick to the Raptors, and a package that includes Marcus Camby and Steve Novak, league sources said. The Knicks will also send two future second-round picks to Toronto, sources said. For new Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri, the deal finally unloads the two years, $22 million left on the contract of the underachieving 7-foot forward.”
And per Howard Beck:

UPDATE!
UPDATE: Knicks trade for Bargnani will NOT be approved by NBA tonight. As a result, teams will have to restructure under 2013-14 cap figures

Knicks and Raptors both still motivated to do the deal, but it will have to be tweaked once the 2013-14 salaries kick in on July 1.

Unclear at the moment why the deal did not get NBA approval. Still expect a Bargnani-to-NY trade in some form during moratorium.
