Relatively good news for the Knickerbockers since Gallo‘s injury isn’t all that serious. From the NY Daily News: “An MRI Monday afternoon confirmed that Gallinari has a mildly sprained left knee; he’s expected to be out 2-3 weeks, the team announced. He got hurt in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 98-92 win over the Pacers when Indiana’s Brandon Rush crashed into the side of his knee. Mike D’Antoni said Gallinari was able to walk at the practice facility in Greenburgh Monday, and that the injury was “just sore.” After the MRI, the Knicks decided on a more cautious approach. Even before that, D’Antoni said center Ronny Turiaf would start in Gallinari’s place against the Spurs, a move that hurts the Knicks offensively but has some benefits. Amar’e Stoudemire will slide to his natural power forward position, and Wilson Chandler will move to small forward. ‘We’re pretty successful with Ronny starting,’ D’Antoni said. ‘It gives us a chance to experiment a little bit.'”
