In 2013, Mark Jackson called his backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the greatest in NBA history.
Thompson, at a recent sneaker promo event in China, agreed with the former Golden State Warriors bench boss.
The 25-year-old All-Star points to the fact that the Splash Bros led the League in three-pointers made last season—Curry is also a career 44 percent shooter from beyond the arc; Klay has connected on 41.8 percent of his bombs—and are coming off a championship triumph.
Per Sina (via CBS Sports):
Speaking with a reporter in China at an event to promote his new Anta sneaker, Thompson confidently answered a question regarding the Splash Brothers being the “best shooting duo” of all-time.
“I agree, I think so,” Thompson said. “You know, Steph is one of the best to ever play. I think I’m right there by him. We both led the NBA in 3s, we were No. 1 and 2. I don’t know if that has ever happened on the same team.
“I think we are the best shooting backcourt, maybe of all-time. We still got a lot to prove and I still think we are just scratching the surface of what we can be.”
