After deliberating for a few days, OKC Thunder superstar forward Kevin Durant opted for surgery to repair a fractured bone on his right foot.
The team will re-evaluate his status six weeksfrom now.
Based on that timeline, Durant could miss between 16-22 games.
Per The Oklahoman:
Cliff Dixon, a close friend of Durant, posted a picture of the league’s reigning Most Valuable Player in a hospital gown to Instagram on Thursday afternoon.
The caption read: “Let’s do this (expletive). Pray for my brother y’all.”
Durant was diagnosed with a “Jones fracture,” or a broken bone at the base of his right small toe, on Saturday after experiencing pain in his foot following a team practice. An MRI revealed the injury. […] It was the first time Durant had told the team’s medical staff that he was experiencing pain or discomfort in his foot.
