For their roles during a mini-fracas this week, members of the Heat and Wizards received obligatory slaps on the wrist from the NBA: “Stu Jackson, the NBA’s executive vice president of basketball operations, issued sanctions Thursday against Heat forward Juwan Howard, Heat center Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Wizards guard John Wall. Wall, who was ejected from Wednesday’s game, received the stiffest sanction, losing a game check with a one-game suspension for his Flagrant Foul Penalty Two, which, according to the NBA, ‘included throwing a closed-fist and forearm into the midsection of Ilgauskas.’ The NBA said Howard was fined $35,000, ‘for escalating the altercation.’ Ilgauskas, who received a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two for an elbow to the face of Wall, was fined $25,000, according to the NBA, ‘for making an obscene gesture following his ejection.'”
