Long before Game 3 of the Bulls-Wizards first round series tips off on Friday night, things are already getting heated between Chicago and Washington. Bulls center Joakim Noah took exception to a Wizards security manager’s orders to leave the court following this morning’s shootaround, and that’s when the F bombs started flying. Good times. Per the Chicago Sun-Times:
(Jackie) Miles came onto the Verizon Center hardwood and started screaming for Bulls players to exit so the Wizards could start their shootaround. Noah is usually the last Bull off the court in shootarounds, going through his morning routine, and wasn’t having any of it.
Noah told Miles, “Get the [bleep] out of here, I’m not done … get the [bleep] out of here.”
Miles started firing back with, “Don’t [bleeping] talk to me that way,” and then again telling Noah to leave the court.
It didn’t stop there, as the two went back-and-forth for at least another minute, while Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau was addressing the media just off the court.
In a visit to the nation’s capital back in January, Miles pulled the same thing, yelling to Bulls players to get off “my court.”
There was no incident back then, but it was not appreciated nor forgotten.
Wizards PR had to settle down their security guy back on that day, and again on Friday, after Bulls assistant general manager Randy Brown and Bulls director of security Erick Buck also tried to calm the situation.
“Guy’s a clown,” one member of the Bulls travelling party said.
As far as how the situation ended? Noah finished the rest of his routine, and did so on his own schedule.
