Weatherspoon will join his older brother, Quinndary, started at guard and made the SEC All-Freshman team last season. Weatherspoon is rated the No. 5 point guard by 247sports in the class of 2017 and chose Mississippi State over NC State, Kansas, Louisville and Ohio State, amongst many others.
“I was so close to these guys and I just see myself playing really well here at the point guard position,” Weatherspoon told The Clarion-Ledger. “I really trust coach Ben Howland. He will do things to help me get better as a guard and put me in position to play at even the next level in one or two years.”
Weatherspoon averaged 23.4 points and 3.6 assists on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit this past summer.
