Colorado State forward Chane Behanan has declared for the NBA Draft, ending his controversial college career.
Behanan was an impact player on Louisville’s 2012-13 National Championship-winning team, but was suspended coming into the 2013-14 campaign. He was dismissed from the team in December of 2013, and later transferred to Colorado State, where he planned on joining the school’s basketball team.

Behanan enrolled at Colorado State in January, and he was slated to compete for the Rams at the conclusion of the fall semester next season.
“After a lot of thought, I have decided to put my name into the NBA draft and begin my professional career,” said Behanan in a statement. “I want to thank Coach Eustachy and his staff for the opportunity to continue my college career at Colorado State, and for their support over the past five months. This was a very difficult decision, but after speaking with my family, Coach (John) Lucas, and Coach Eustachy I knew that I had their support to make what I felt was the best decision for me at this point in time.”
Behanan averaged 9.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game during his time at Louisville. He is the 90th ranked prospect in the 2014 Draft, according to ESPN’s Chad Ford.
