Dwyane Wade Refuses to Discuss Knee Injury in Game 6

There was a noticeable absence in the Miami Heat’s lineup as the second half began in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. Dwyane Wade stayed back in the locker room to receive additional care after banging knees with Manu Ginobili. Wade, though, wouldn’t talk about his latest injury. Per the Sun-Sentinel: “Wade, who despite a balky knee was coming off back-to-back games of 32 and 25 points, but clearly re tweaked his sore left knee in an early first-quarter collison with Manu Ginobili. Wade needed extended treatment during halftime and didn’t enter the game in the third quarter until 2:22 had expired with the Heat down five points. He finished with a pedestrian 14 points on 6-of-15 from the field with four rebounds, four assists and three turnovers. ‘Yes,’ Wade responded to a reporter asking if he hurt his knee. ‘Nothing, that we’re going to talk about.’ Wade had just two points in the fourth quarter and none in the overtime. With the Heat down 10 points to start the fourh quarter, (LeBron) James led a 22-9 run with Wade on the bench for the entire burst. But still the Heat needed a Ray Allen 3-pointer with 5.2 seconds left to force overtime. ‘Just no quit in this team,’ Wade said in a happy locker room. ‘The game of basketball is a funny thing. I wish we could say how and why [we won]. That’s why we love this game. It’s unpredictable. That’s why the only thing you can do when things look dim and dark is just keep going.’ […] Wade is looking forward to what could be an epic Game 7 of the NBA Finals back at AmericanAirlines Arena. ‘I’ve never wanted to play a Game 7 so bad,’ Wade said. ‘When you’re out there and losing, you will do anything to get to that next game, and this is what it’s all about. The two best teams in the NBA to fight it out in a Game 7 on our home floor. It’s going to be a great game.'”
