The controversial offensive interference call that cost the Chicago Bulls a victory against the Denver Nuggets had tempers flaring in the Windy City. Comcast SportsNet Bulls television analyst Kendall Gill got in a fistfight with Big Ten Network analyst Tim Doyle over the play last night, and Gill (who played in the League for 15 years, including a one in Chicago) has now been suspended. Per the Chicago Sun-Times and Tribune: “The incident took place after the ‘Sports Talk Live’ show, where Doyle was a guest and spoke critically of Gill’s assessment of the controversial ending to the Bulls-Denver game on Monday. Gill approached Doyle on his way out of the CSN studio and a fight broke out. ‘We’re looking further into the incident that took place in our newsroom [last evening],’ CSN Chicago news director Kevin Cross said in a statement. ‘Until the investigation is complete, Kendall Gill will not be appearing on our air.’ […] Reached by phone Wednesday morning, Gill said he was unable to talk about the incident that reportedly drew blood after a punch was thrown. ‘We have to let everything play out,’ he said. According to sources, Gill confronted Doyle in the CSN newsroom after the taping because of critical comments made by Doyle regarding Gill’s assessment of Monday night’s Bulls-Denver game. A controversial call by the officials wiped out a potential game-winning basket by Joakim Noah in overtime. Gill had referred to the decision by the officials as ‘a very bad call.'”
