Carmelo Anthony to Take Nuggets’ 3-Year Extension?

According to the Denver Post, Anthony is expected to sign on the dotted line in Denver. It’s only a matter of time: “Nuggets all-star Carmelo Anthony is expected to take Denver’s three-year, $65 million extension offer, an NBA source said, but Anthony doesn’t have a timetable as he prepares for his wedding Saturday and waits to see how the Nuggets bolster their beleaguered frontcourt. While this is where Melo stands today, nothing is definite until he signs the contract, and he will naturally keep an eye on free-agent signings this month to see how all the teams make moves … As for Anthony, the Nuggets have pondered trading him if he doesn’t re-sign with the team, but it seems that will become a moot point because of Anthony’s seriousness about re-signing with Denver instead of testing free agency next summer. Anthony has spent much of the summer in Los Angeles.
