Trouble brewing in New York between Phil Jackson and Carmelo Anthony?
Earlier this week, Jackson said that Melo has a tendency to hold the ball for too long. Following last night’s blowout loss to the Cavs, Melo was visibly annoyed, but took the high road and punted the question about Phil’s comments.
From ESPN:
“I don’t even know what was said, to be honest with you. I just don’t even want to talk about that, what he’s talking about exactly. I want to stay away from that at this point,” Anthony said. “My focus is my teammates and winning. We’ve been playing great basketball, and that’s the only thing I’m focused on. Whatever Phil said, he said it. I have nothing to say about that.”
Jackson and Anthony have been going back and forth through the media all season long. After Phil made his “posse” comment about LeBron, Melo didn’t come to the team president’s defense, instead criticizing him for his comments. Melo has also voiced his displeasure over the triangle offense and said that he was happy Phil didn’t talk at a team meeting.
