Today’s NBA game so obviously places a premium on the three-point shot, it makes one wonder what exactly Los Angeles Lakers head coach Byron Scott has been watching.
Scott isn’t very big on threes, and wants his team to limit their attempts from behind the arc to about 12-15 per game. By comparison, the last two NBA championship squads averaged 22 and 21 three-point shots a night respectively.
(In related news: the Lakers are even more screwed than we thought.)
Per the OC Register:
Byron expects Lakers, when healthy, to shoot 12-15 3-pointers per game.

Scott says teams tend to be built to live and die by 3-pointers. "I don't believe it wins championships. Gets you to the playoffs."

Only two NBA teams last season were in Byron's range of 12-15 3-pointers per game: New Orleans (15.9) and Memphis (14). No team shot fewer.
