26-year old DJ White has signed a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics. White, a first round pick by the Detroit Pistons in the 2008 NBA Draft, had been hooping in China prior to landing a deal with the C’s. Per the Boston Herald: “White, who will be the third new face since the trading deadline — Jordan Crawford and Terrence Williams being the other — is a 6-foot-9, 250-pound, 26-year-old who has been playing in China this season. He averaged 21.6 points and 9.7 rebounds in 32 games for the Shanghai Sharks. White played last year in Charlotte, where he started 11 of the 58 games in which he played. He averaged 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds while playing 18.9 minutes per game.”
