There’s been plenty of speculation about Carmelo Anthony’s future vis-à-vis the New York Knicks.
Arron Afflalo is preparing for his first season as a Knick, and says his former Denver Nuggets teammate is “very committed” to Phil Jackson’s rebuilding plan.
Afflalo and Anthony have been working out together this offseason.
Per the NY Post:
“Yeah, we’ve worked out in Vegas, we worked out here [Westchester],” Afflalo said Wednesday at a Knicks basketball camp for kids at Pace University. “He’s very committed and he seems very, very hungry to succeed.”
The two haven’t played together since 2011 when they were teammates on the Nuggets for two seasons. […] “We’ll see how we jell together on the court,” Afflalo said. “Obviously it’s been awhile, but I can say in terms of our mentality, we’re both hungry to win right now.”
Anthony was instrumental in Afflalo’s free-agency decision, and played a major part to bring the veteran shooting guard to New York. […] “I believe he had a lot to do with it,” said Afflalo, who signed a two-year, $16 million deal. “I know they value his opinion in the organization. … He’s a big part of me coming here. He spoke highly of me, and that’s all you can ask for.”
