Billy Fox, former SLAM copy editor, occasional SLAM freelancer and long-time friend of SLAM Ed Ben Osborne has a new webtv series, Rhyme Animal, that was covered on our sister site, xxlmag.com, last week: http://www.xxlmag.com/online/?p=96300.
Here’s some more info, straight from Billy himself:
Quick! What do SLAM and serial killers have in common?
Cue dead silence.
That’s right: Not a damn thing. But hip hop and hoops do connect, so maybe it’s not too far-fetched to tout Rhyme Animal, the story of an ambitious DJ riding the coattails of a brilliant MC… who just might be a serial killer.
This seven-part series is online now at the web TV network Koldcast.tv. Rhyme Animal stars Al Thompson, who you may have caught in A Season on the Brink: A Year With Bob Knight and the Indiana Hoosiers and Craig “muMs” Grant (best known as Poet in the HBO series OZ). Rhyme Animal is a unique hybrid of film, animation, and hip hop beats, worthy of Dexter and The Wire.
