Cam Thomas’ night was a reflection of the Brooklyn Nets. While he started slowly, so did the Nets. But when he began to heat up, his team came back from a 28 points deficit, the largest in team history.
After Brooklyn was dominated by the Knicks for three quarters Wednesday night and was down 18 points in the fourth, the rookie out of LSU led a furious comeback hitting numerous big shots, including a deep three with less than ten seconds left to shock the Knicks in Madison Square Garden 111-106.

After shooting 2-11 from the field for five points in the first three frames, he scored seven of his 16 points in the fourth to spark a 15-0 Brooklyn run to take the lead. Then with Brooklyn hanging on to a 106-103 lead, Thomas knocked down the biggest shot of the game, a step-back three-pointer with 3.7 seconds remaining in the game.
“It was 16 on the clock, 10 on the shot clock, so we just went in the backcourt. I saw coach tell them everyone flatten out, so I knew it was one-on-one time,” Thomas said, breaking down the clinching play via the New York Post. “So I just went to my go-to move. So glad it went in because I was struggling. I went like 1-for-9, 1-for-10 to start, wasn’t getting any calls, so I just had to keep playing through it, keep playing, so I’m glad it worked out for us.”

This is not the first time Cam Thomas has come up huge for Brooklyn. Last month he made a huge basket to seal a win over San Antonio.
The Nets play one more game against the Washington Wizards on Thursday night before the All-Star break.
