The NBA fined Knicks forward Julius Randle $15,000 for tossing the game ball into the crowd in the season opener on Wednesday according to the NBA President of League Operations, Byron Spruell.
After the Knicks’ survived a 138-134 double overtime marathon over the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden, Randle threw the ball into the stands.

The reigning NBA’s Most Improved Player and All-Star put on a show in front of the home crowd. He put together a stat line of 35 points, nine assists, eight rebounds. After the game, he described his fatigue in an ESPN interview.
