According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Brooklyn Nets are trading DeAndre Jordan, four future-second round picks and $5.78 million to the Detroit Pistons for Jahlil Okafor and Sekou Doumbouya.

The Nets will send the Pistons their 2024 and 2027 seconds alongside a 2024 second-rounder via the Washington Wizards and a 2025 second-rounder via the Golden State Warriors.
Wojnarowaski also reports that the Pistons plan to work through a buyout with Jordan who is still owed $20 million from his four-year $40 million contract he signed in June of 2019. Jordan will then sign with the increasingly deep Los Angeles Lakers.
With the Nets’ Big Three taking up a majority of the organization’s cap space, the trade allows Brooklyn to save $47 million in salary luxury tax space.
25-year-old center Jahlil Okafor has bounced around the league since being drafted third overall in 2015 but finds a championship contender in Brooklyn who requires front court depth. Okafor averaged 5.4 points and 2.4 rebounds in 27 games before missing more than two months after undergoing knee surgery.
Former 15th overall pick (2019) Sekou Doumbouy averaged 5.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in 56 games for the Pistons.
