Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant has had an electric start to the 2021 NBA Playoffs, but it appears his on-court play hasn’t been enough to satisfy some.
On TNT Monday night, Durant was asked by NBA TV’s Jared Greenburg if—following his Achilles injury two years ago—he ever thought he’d return to form, and the outspoken superstar was not pleased with the question.
“Is that a real question?” Durant replied incredulously. “Of course! What you want me to say to that?”
Durant, a two-time Finals MVP, has been arguably the best player in the playoffs so far. Over the course of seven playoff games, KD is averaging an eye-popping 32.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 55.0 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from 3-point range.
Durant’s MVP-caliber play has led Brooklyn to a 6-1 record in the postseason and has given them a 2-0 series lead over a revamped Milwaukee Bucks squad, despite the absence of guard James Harden.
The Nets will have the chance to give themselves a nearly insurmountable 3-0 lead on the Bucks on Thursday night, when the Western Conference semifinals series heads to Milwaukee for Game 3.
